Mineral Collecting Field Trips

Mineral collecting field trips are offered, leaving from the Chamber of Commerce office, starting Saturdays only as of June 12, 2010 and every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday during the summer as of July 1, 2010.   These trips are conducted by a geologist and chamber staff who are available to identify the minerals found and provide information on the geology of the area. 

NOTE: Field Trips on July 29th and July 31st DO NOT leave from the Chamber office.  Trip Registration takes place during Gemboree at the North Hastings Senior Elementary School at 132 Newkirk Blvd., next door to the North Hastings Community Centre, at 9:00am.  Field Trips depart at 10:00am.

Registration takes place at the Chamber Office at 12 Flint Avenue (next door to the Art Gallery of Bancroft) at 9:30am.  Field Trips depart at 10:00am. 

Please note:

• PARTICIPANTS PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORATION.
• TRIPS AVERAGES 5 HOURS.
• SUGGESTED EQUIPMENT: SUITABLE CLOTHING & FOOTWEAR, ROCK HAMMER,SAFETY GLASSES, GARDEN CLAW, CHISEL, CONTAINER,BUG REPELLENT, FOOD & DRINK
• NO OPENED TOED SHOES
