Rally of the Tall Pines

Come and watch the best rally drivers in North America compete against the clock and each other in the Rally of the Tall Pines from November 20-22, 2008.

Based in Bancroft, Ontario, some three hours northeast of Toronto, the Rally of the Tall Pines is a favourite event with competitors and fans alike. A staple on the Canadian Rally Championship calendar since 1971, this rally is also the final round of the 2008 title chase – meaning that teams will be putting everything on the line to take home class honours. 
 
This challenging rally consists of twisty dirt and gravel roads with dangerous ditches and trees on either side. There are jumps, dips and spectators positioned mere feet away. Often marked by completely unpredictable weather, the Rally of the Tall Pines makes teams prepare for everything from dirt and gravel stages to roads covered in sheer ice – and sometimes a mixture of both!

Thanks to the efforts of the Maple Leaf Rally Club, this event runs like clockwork. Spectators are able to get up close and personal with the teams in the parc ferme area and watch the high-speed action from numerous viewing areas positioned around the outskirts of town. A strong field of at least 35 teams from Canada and the USA is expected to compete in this year’s rally.
